The ’37 Ford was sold after the last race of the 1966 season so it was time for a new race car. The rules at Coweta stated no two seat foreign cars were allowed. However, there was nothing in the rules about 2 seat domestic cars. Bob knew of a couple of wrecked T-Birds. Problem was, they were different years. But as it turned it out, it was no problem at all, well not for Bob Morris anyway. Since the ’56 through ’57 Birds were all the same size he could join them together. So one of the most well known Georgia dirt track cars of the time was born. A front end wrecked ’56 and a rear end wrecked ‘57 were purchased. There were a few detractors at the track. Some complained about the 2 - seat rather than a sedan. Some were not happy with the engine setback. The setback was in the originals frame position, but the car was deemed legal by the track leadership.
Still working a few mysteries about this car. like, in some pics the headlight fillers are painted and in some others they are not. There is also a different bumper on some pics. Also, the Hapeville Radiator shop sponsor on the hood is painted different in some pics.
